Posting for the 2nd week in a row. This is a sure sign of real commitment.
It’s the start of conference play in basketball tonight for my beloved Charlotte 49ers, and I wanted to show my gameday support with a new tie I received from my sister and her fiancé. The school colors go surprisingly well with the waistcoat, which I think just makes everything classy.
You can purchase this tie for yourself at thetiebar.com and you can catch the Niners in action tonight against UTEP on CBS Sports at 9 PM. Go Niners!
My sister’s boyfriend, Peter, made me one of the most awesome gifts ever for my birthday/graduation/Christmas…a Charlotte 49ers Cornhole set. My mother made the bags. So thanks to both of you!
Peter’s pretty good at making these sets, so if you want him to construct something for you, let me know, maybe we can work something out, who knows.
(Yes, this post was short and lacked substance, but it’s 2 AM and I’m restless.)
My good friend wanted me to post this to drum up some interest and get this 3d model of UNC Charlotte’s Belk Tower accepted on Google Earth.
It’s pretty good, everything appears realistic and true to form. It is missing one or two angry preachers, but hey, no big deal, right? So, take a look, DL it, critique it and tell Google to accept it. SEE IT HERE!
If you’d like to help with this project, let me know. It is done using Google Sketch Up and the eventual goal is to have the entire campus modeled.
Walked into Walmart (not Wal-Mart) yesterday to pick up a Carolina Panthers shirt for the game yesterday, and was pleasantly surprised to find two new Charlotte hoodies for sale prominently displayed near the front of the store! While one of them had the “UNC” on it, the other was pretty nice. Most people agreed, it seemed, because there were only six of the green hoodie left. They’re definitely better than the first ones I found awhile back…
The best part…..they were only $9. Even if they’re not the warmest hoodies, they’re still only $9, and they’re GREEN. Hopefully they get a few more in, because I’m sure a lot of people would buy a $9 Charlotte hoodie.
Well, it’s about that time, finally. After, well, almost 18 years of school, I will be graduating on December 20th from UNC Charlotte. It will be the first time since I was 4 years old that I will not be attending class in January.
I’m excited about this, but one can’t help but be a tad anxious and a bit worried. Especially since I haven’t been offered a job, nor do I have any obvious chances around the corner. Mind you, I’ve been working and talking with people and getting interviews, but I just haven’t found the right place yet. I am very appreciative of all those who have helped me along the way, however.
Jenn got a really solid job offer in Winston-Salem that she accepted today, and I can’t be any happier for her. So, CONGRATS JENN!
Me? I’m getting there. Because of Jenn’s strong position, the stress isn’t as high to find a high-paying job right away. I do, however, need to find income of some sort. I’m leaning towards offering my services as an hourly-wage intern to as many companies as possible. Its a win-win-win. They get good work, I get money and experience.
I’m also entertaining the idea of going back to school. With Jenn in Winston, I could go back and get an MBA somewhere, perhaps Wake Forest or Winston-Salem State, either would be good.
So, suggest away, I’d love to hear from you!
For the first time since my freshman year (04-05), the Charlotte 49ers have merchandise in the University City Walmart location.
For around $18, you can get one for yourself!
I didn’t say it was the nicest hoodie ever, but its better than nothing!
To be honest, I went to that section expecting to find Davidson stuff…..
Saw this in the bookstore today.
How pathetic is this?
WOW! Do you see this at other schools?!
On the bottom it does say “University of Charlotte North Carolina,” so it’s not all bad.
Reason #4010. Found in the University TImes, our school newspaper, about a UNC Charlotte student going on TV…
Through the weekend and into this week, my favorite website, ninernation.net, has been down and Charlotte 49ers fans everywhere have been worried. Some folks are trying to get to the bottom of this, and once I find out, I’ll update this here.
In other news, work productivity amongst Charlotte 49ers fans has skyrocketed the first two days of this week. Whether or not this is related to the collapse of ninernation.net is yet to be determined.
To provide an update:
Welcome to Charlotte Chris Braswell!!!
